Prescription Drugs

You get retail and mail order prescription drug coverage when you elect a TreeHouse Foods medical plan. Your coverage is through CVS/Caremark, one of the country’s largest prescription drug networks. Your benefits are based on which medical plan you select.

If you are a TreeHouse Foods employee and a member of a union, your benefits are determined by your collective bargaining agreement (CBA). See your CBA for details. For questions, please contact your HR Partner.

Coverage change for 2026

Weight loss medications including GLP-1s (Wegovy, Zepbound, etc.) will no longer be covered under the TreeHouse Foods prescription benefit plan in 2026. Impacted employees will receive additional information.

These prescription drugs will still be covered for the treatment of diabetes. Additionally, TreeHouse Foods will cover the cost of Cylinder, a resource that can connect you with a nutrition expert to help with weight management and other lifestyle goals.

Savings Tips

If you or one of your dependents takes one of the impacted medications, you may reduce your out-of-pocket costs by:

  • Taking advantage of manufacturer savings programs. Visit the official websites for the medications you’re prescribed (such as Wegovy and Zepbound) to see if you qualify.
  • Comparing prices and finding coupons through discount platforms like GoodRx.
  • Using your HSA or FSA funds.

Compare the Coverage by Plans

In the Choice and Value Medical Plans:

  • Eligible prescription drug expenses count towards your annual deductible and out-of-pocket maximum
  • You pay just 20% for many maintenance medications even before your deductible

In the PPO Medical Plan:

  • Eligible out-of-pocket expenses only count toward your annual out-of-pocket maximum
  • You may be eligible for help with your copay for specialty medications

Savings Opportunities

Create an online account with CVS/Caremark to find resources that can help you save on your prescription medications.

You have opportunities to save on prescription drugs through Diabetes De-Rx and a Caremark cost saver program.

Plus, if you enroll in the Choice or Value plans (Consumer 2250 or Consumer 3000 Plans in 2025), you can save on specialty medication costs through PrudentRx.

ID Cards

If you elect medical coverage, you will receive separate ID cards for your prescription drug coverage in the mail through the end of 2025. Starting in 2026, you will no longer need a separate ID card for prescription drug coverage and can use your medical ID card at the pharmacy.

Download the CVS/Caremark app for a convenient way to access your ID card.

Save on Prescription Drugs

  • Present your member ID card when you pick up your prescriptions and our Caremark Cost Saver program will make sure you get the lowest available cost for covered medications.
  • Pay $0 out of pocket for specialty medications when you enroll in PrudentRx.
    • Consumer 2250 and Consumer 3000: Call a CVS Specialty Pharmacy to order your medication and a representative will help you enroll.
    • PPO Plan: Look for a communication in the mail with a phone number to call to enroll.
  • If you have diabetes, you can reduce your need for anti-diabetic medications by working with a registered dietitian through the Diabetes De-Rx program. You will be contacted if you are eligible.
